This unit is TSO / ETSO, and the installation documents are in the SAC 7-35 and STX 165 installation manuals.
What are the red and black wires for?
The Red wire on the OAT Probe is power, Black wire is Signal and the Bare is ground.
Where should I install this unit in relation to the other hardware and instruments?
Make sure that the STP78 OAT probe is not mounted in or near a prop stream, engine or heater exhaust, transmitting antenna, dark painted surface and any of OAT Probe connections are away from areas that can accumulate water or chemicals.
Can I use my other Out Side Air Temperature probe for my Sandia Products?
No, we have an active probe that requires a certain value to read.
